I am trying to replace a cracked screen on an Acer Aspire V5-571P-6464. It is a touchscreen but the only replacements for sale now are non-touch, whch is fine.

However, every replacement screen for sale for this model has the screw tabs, 2 on top and 2 on bottom.

I bought one thinking it would be an easy swap out.

But after opening the V5-571P-6464, I found that those 4 screw tabs are covered by small plastic tabs, effectively making it impossible to remove the screen itself from the bezel.

Searching the internet I found that years ago some shops sold replacemwent screens for this model that already included the bezel. But I find none available now.

So, does anyone have experience/ideas as to how I can remove the old screen from tje bezel, and fit the replacement which has the screw tabs?

Many thanks for any opinions.

Turns out that the Acer Aspire V5-571P-6464 (as well as other V5 series) uses a screen that is not screwed into place. The screen is held in place under plastic tabs that are integral to a plastic bezel that goes around the edge of the screen.

A warning to anyone replacing a screen on this model- some vendors are selling 15.6" replacement screens that DO NOT FIT this model. Be sure to order one that states that it comes with the bezel.

Returned the incorrect screen, and ordered a correct one from a different vendor.

Hope this info does someone some good.
