I want to upgrade - RAM upgrade for Acer Aspire 5 - A515-51G-54AH

Hello,

I have Acer Aspire 5 - A515-51G-54AH which have 1 fixed 4GB RAM and 1 slot for RAM where I have 8GB this one:

Corsair ValueSelect - 8GB (1x 8 GB) / SO-DIMM DDR4 2133 MHz / Non-ECC, Un-registered (un-buffered)

I want to upgrade now to 20GB with this one:

Corsair ValueSelect - 16GB (1x 16 GB) / SO-DIMM DDR4 2133 MHz / Non-ECC, Un-registered (un-buffered)

boths are the same 2133 MHz, Single-Channel CL15

After upgrade the RAM in notebook I see in CPU-Z:

But in task manager I see only 12GB:

And if I exceed the 12GB alocated memory, the blue death screen is shown. There is propably some problem with alocation memory more than 12GB in this notebook? I used windows 10.

What is wrong? Could you please help?

Hi,

Could you please post the picture of Memory tab in CPU-z, you can try take out the 16GB module and wipe the pins with a soft cloth and try again, it could also be a faulty module(DOA).

In BIOS I see 12GB RAM. It"s damaged?

Hello, there is CPU-Z - Memory tab:

I try it to take out the module, clean and tried to start, and nothing changed. :-(

OK, try this, go to BIOS screen and move to Main tab, press F9 button then press F10 button to Save and Exit, reboot and see whether there's any change.
