I have been trying to install drivers in ubuntu 18.04 for the past 7 days.
Only wi-fi was successful using https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000058909/wireless.html
I have experimented with different versions (18.04.1/2/3/4/5/6), and with different kernels (5.0.0, 5.3.0,5.4.0), with no success.
I only want my extern display to work, rest I can manage without Audio/Bluetooth etc...
Secure boot and Fast boot are disabled in the BIOS.
If I install nvidia-drivers from system & updates, nvidia-smi works only with driver 520, 470 gives error and I have to purge nvidia after booting into recovery modem to get it to work, Then no amount of tries to install nvidia drivers work, the only solution is to re-install ubuntu. I have tried installing via command line, and also via the .run file from their webpage.
Switching to gdm3, or lightdm to get the hdmi port doesn't work either. Only the USB ports are working.
lspci - v does not show HDMI,
Please help, how to get drivers. This is such a bad product for Ubuntu :(
