I installed Pop_OS (Linux) alongside windows on my girlfriend's Acer spin 5 13i 52N-50AB. Worked fine, until I wanted to set Pop_OS as first boot-priority, in order to have GRUB Bootloader to choose the operating system to boot.

However, now every time I want to access the BIOS, regardless if via hitting FN and f2 during boot or via windows advanced startup, just a black screen appears. It does nothing, when hitting any key.

It's strange. I already installed Fedora on her Laptop and this caused no such issue. However. For the installation of Pop_OS, I had to disable secureboot. Has this something to do with the black screen?

It seems to me that you might have a frozen super IO and a bios chip, take the main and bios batteries out and after short the bios + and - pins together, as this does a hard reset of the super IO and bios chips, leave the batteries disconnected for 5min and reconnect and reboot laptop, as that should reset the super IO chip and the bios chip, otherwise you need to take your laptop to an experienced tech so they can analyse the exact problems of your laptop, as a user like you hasn't got the appropriate tools to fix anything except do the resets that you have done,

Ok, thank you for your help. I think im gonna hand it in to a repair service. I don't have the confidence to do this myself. But now, i know, what could be the error.
