Acer Swift X SFX14-41G - Fan is weird and lights up LED under

Hello.

Around 3-4 months ago, I bought a new Acer Swift X SFX14-41G, which has been pretty alright - it's a strong laptop that doesn't look like a typical gaming gamer RGB laptop, but the downsides would lie in the quality.

My main problem with it is that the fan has a big problem - at times, it becomes very loud, and a LED light lights up beside the fan. If this goes on for long enough, the LED light eventually turns off, but the fan still goes, this time in small intervals half a second at a time or so before going silent for six seconds, and doing so again. When it does this, the PC does vibrate a fair bit, and it sounds like there's something inside making other than the fan making sound too.

Does any know what this is caused by?

  • Is your computer under warranty? It looks like the fan motor is failing or something is touching the blades. Have you taken the computer apart to check?

I agree, if in warranty have Acer fix it for you, if not then the first step is to open it and inspect the fan.
