Hi, I have a Predator Helios 300 G3-571 laptop with Intel Core I7 and 16GB (8x2) RAM DDR4 with dual boot (Win10 and Ubuntu 18.04)
I wanted to up extend the RAM, and looking around I have seen that 3200Hz will be supported even if running at 2666Hz, which is supported by the Helios
So I got two slots of this one: Crucial RAM CT16G4SFRA32A 16 GB DDR4 3200 MHz CL22 (o 2933 MHz o 2666 MHz)
BUT
When I start the laptop it does not boot in either OS, not even in recovery mode for Win10, it just starts crunching...
If I go into the BIOS, the whole 32GB show up
I updated the BIOS to the most recent version
Any suggestions?

FAQ & Answers
Hi,
Could you please post the frequency of your current memory modules, I suspect incompatibility of Crucial modules, you may try return it for 2666MHz modules.

Yes, now it is mounting 2 slots:
Hynix 8gb 1Rx8 PC4 2400T-SS1-12
What is defining the compatibility?
thank you!
Yes, your CPU supports 2400MHz frequency, if you install 2666MHz it can downclock to 2400MHz, 3200MHz modules may be too much to downclock, have a looka the Crucial link in my previous post.

So, if I understand correctly I can
1. Replace the memory with some at 2400hz
2. Downclock the currwnt one down to 2400hz
Not sure how to do the second, can you help out?
Thank you!
Sorry, I was not clear, you have 2x8GB memory modules in your laptop now and you want to upgrade the memory to 32GB(2x16GB).
Buy two 16GB DDR4 2400MHz modules and install,
You can not downclock memory because there's no settings available in laptops.
