I found this acer cell (black, kinda thick, battery indicator at very top) at a pawnshop, and want to buy it, if i figure out how to unlock the screen. I dont care about providers, I'll prolly just use it for music and wi-fi anyways

Apparently it can't be done on all the phones, is there any way you can try to find a picture of it online and post it?

If I knew the model may I could help Smiley Happy

Is it the Liquid E S100 or A1?

If so, you can try to enter the boot-up menu, by powering off first, then push the power+volumedown+camera buttons. There you can chose to revert the phone to factory defaults.

Ok. I rooted it, upgraded android to 2.2.2, 4.00, it accepted it, but sim lock still engaged. can rooting clear a sim card? The phone is rogers, i bought a new telus sim, activated online, regretfully closed apn page, but can a rooting affect sim card? And, how can I get around gsm lock without code? As well, when I backup, how do I make sure i'm saving the important stuff? Please and thank you

Instead of actually helping people with propblems beyond what is easily found on the Acer website (accessories, manual etc), useful comments are being removed. Good job Acer team. You're about to lose a longtime customer.
