I'd say any temp that doesn't make your GPU to lose performance due to thermal throttling is good. But I personally do my darndest to make all of my components run as cool and quiet as possible.

The actual throttling temperature depends on the model and maker of the GPU. Same with CPUs. Just as an example my own 3080 Ti. According to HWinfo64 it has a GPU Thermal Limit of 83C. I believe this to be VRAM temp after which it has to lower performance.

GPU-Z and its Sensors leaf has a row that says PerfCap Reason. If the GPU is throttling because of getting too hot, it should state Thrm (thermal).

Throttling reasons I found from another forum.

"vRel = Reliability. Indicating performance is limited by voltage reliability.

VOp = Operating. Indicating performance is limited by max operating voltage(Hardware Limit).

Pwr = Power. Indicating performance is limited by total power limit.

Thrm = Thermal. Indicating performance is limited by temperature limit.

Util = Utilization. Indicating performance is limited by GPU utilization."
