Acer Nitro XZ272U vbmiiphx - No signal on specific laptop

Hi everybody,

I recently purchased a new monitor which seems to work perfectly fine on both my work laptop and desktop. Unfortunately I can't get it to work on my personal laptop for some bizarre reason. Below are some brief hardware details and some things I've already tried after Googling:

Hardware:

Software (personal laptop)

  • Windows 10 21H2
  • Latest Intel UHD Graphics drivers
  • Latest GeForce Nvidia Graphics drivers

Now, the reason I'm also mentioning my 'old' monitor is because that monitor works for both my personal and my work laptop. The new monitor however only works on my work laptop. When connecting the monitor to my personal laptop it seems to detect it as I can see it in the Windows 10's Display Settings. Windows 10 however keeps telling me the display isn't active + the monitor tells me there's no signal.

Things I've tried so far:

  • Swapping out HDMI cables
  • Connecting the HDMI cable through a USB hub
  • Uninstalling/Reinstalling/Downgrading Intel UHD Graphics drivers
  • Uninstalling/Reinstalling/Downgrading GeForce Nvidia drivers
  • Updating any outdated drivers + BIOS through the HP Support Assistant
  • Lowering the refresh rate (144Hz to 60Hz) of the new monitor before connecting to my personal laptop
  • Restoring factory settings of the monitor
  • Clearing display configuration cache (registry)

The thing that stands out most to me is that the 'old' HP monitor connects to my personal laptop without any issues, while the new one doesn't (with the exact same HDMI cable). I'm currently out of options/ideas, so I was wondering if anybody had the same issue and (hopefully) managed to solve this rather annoying issue?

Thanks in advance! :)

What resolution do you feed the old HP monitor from your personal laptop? Some resolutions may not be accessible by the new monitor. Or does the old laptop simply not detect the new monitor? If the latter, simply turn the new monitor on first. Wait a minute or so. Then turn the personal laptop on.
