Good day, I bought an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-53E5. It worked for 2 months and one day while starting a game the charging (orange) and battery (blue) indicators started flashing, the game started to drop in FPS and the laptop shut down. Next step, I start the game again with 100% battery and power adapter plugged in and the same thing happens when I start the game. I do a third test only with the battery and if it let me play without turning off.

After this I left the laptop charging overnight and the next day when I turned it on the battery stayed at 40%, I start a game with the power adapter connected and the game crashes again and the laptop turns off. At that moment I open the laptop to disconnect the battery, and turn on the laptop with only the power adapter, the games start fine and the laptop does not turn off anymore (since when the battery and adapter were at the same time, the orange and blue flashes and then the laptop shuts down). The battery reached 0% and now when it is connected to the power adapter if it lets play the games but the battery no longer charged. And if I leave the laptop off and charging, the orange light just keeps blinking. I searched for a solution to this, installed and uninstalled battery and graphics card drivers, updated BIOS, upgraded and downgraded windows to newer and older versions, drained power from the motherboard, verified that the charger worked properly as well as the power outlets to which I connect it but nothing has worked. I made a report of the battery in CMD and when it shows me the battery data, it appears connected but it does not show its name or serial number. I want to buy another battery but I am afraid that the problem is actually the motherboard. If someone could help me I would really appreciate it, sorry for so much text.

If your Nitro 5 AN515-55 is under the 12 months Acer warranty then don't open and/or do anything to your laptop and consult Acer in your area and tell them about your adaptor, battery and charging problems as this problem has to do with an internal power charging circuitry stage issue that needs analyzing by an experienced technician and parts need to be changed, as this should not be happening to a new laptop.

This is what Acer lists under troubleshooting for Computer Shuts Down Intermittently If the system powers off at intervals, perform the following.

    1. Make sure the power cable is properly connected to the computer and the electrical outlet.
    2. Remove all extension cables between the computer and the outlet.
    3. Remove all surge protectors between the computer and the electrical outlet. Plug the computer directly into a known serviceable electrical outlet.
    4. Remove all external and non-essential hardware connected to the computer that are not necessary to boot the computer to the failure point (this is important as I've had a problem with a USB hub that shorted the laptop out and caused the laptop to prematurely turn off)
    5. Remove any recently installed software.
    6. If the issue is still not resolved, refer to Online Support Information on page 8-2

If your laptop is not under warranty, then a battery change will not fix this problem and you need to do what I've mentioned above. For your information the OEM Acer listed SG for the AN515-55 adaptors and batteries are as follows:
