The laptop it does not charge immediately when it is plugged in to the charge port. It will take a few seconds up to a full minute or more to to actually start charging. This has started happening within the last month.

I have tested the charging cable, and it gives a consistent 19V even when bent or moved around. Bending or adjusting the cable does not make a difference to when it started to charge.

I have inspected the charging port on the laptop and it seems fine.

I am comfortable opening my laptop ams have access to a multimeter. What should I try next to diagnose this problem?

I have also tried the battery reset pinhole and there was no change.

This is normal. Often depends on background processes, like automatic updates, that may can happen unpredictably at anytime. Mine exhibits noticeable delays up to about 10 seconds Sometimes longer. Doesn't seem to be an issue to worry much about. However, we can check your battery anyway by following this procedure

    (1) Search 'cmd' in Windows start menu.

    (2) Right click command prompt near top of menu.

    (3) Click run as administrator.

    (4) Enter 'powercfg /batteryreport' at command prompt.

    (5) Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer.

    (6) Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser.

    (7) Post screenshot of the first part of the report if possible that compares design full charge capacity with its remaining full charge capacity.

Hi Jack, thanks so much for the detailed, simple instructions. I'm always glad to learn something new. Glad to hear it's normal but I still find it strange as it's only started doing it recently of the years I've had it. When it takes more then 60s I also get worried that laptop is about to die on me forever.

Please see the picture attached. Design capacity 62,160 mWh versus Full Charge 39,394 mWh. What does this teach us? Would you like any more of the report?
