Hi everyone. New owner of acer nitro 5, just bought laptop week ago (AN515-57). When I launch a game to play in this case WoW my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti laptopt GPU is active, but after 10 - 15 min of play it becomes inactive. What Im doing wrong here ? I have all the settings done on nvidia control panel: graphics processor is set for high-performance processor and physx is set for nvidia laptop gpu but it still does not solve anything. Any ideas ? Thank you.

Check GPU temps usng the NitroSense. app that should already be installed. Temps should remain below about 85*C If they tend to hover around 85*C, try turning on NitroSense CoolBoost. It also helps to raise laptop about an inch above a hard surface to promote air flow, taking care not to block the air vents.

Thank you for your reply. This is my temperature while I'm playing. Should I set power plan mode for high performance or leave it as it is now ? Another question, should I always keep my battery charger pluged in while playing games ? Thank you.

If games seem to be playing OK, leave it as is.

Yes, battery should be 100% charged and plugged BEFORE starting heavy power demand games for maximum play time. This is because the battery must sometimes help the charger meet CPU/GPU power demands. During those heavy power demand times, the battery is actually draining even though plugged in. After draining below about 50%, charging battery takes precedent over game power demands and game performance starts to drop and video starts to stutter. When performance drops, it's time to stop gaming and allow the battery to re-charge to 100% before starting to game again.

The GPUs are used as required and the RTX is only used for high end gaming needs, if you want the RTX to be used ONLY then change the NVidia Control Panel settings for the gam to use only the RTX GPU.

Depends on game and/or power demand at certain points of a game. Most laptops will automatically put the discrete GPU in power saving mode if the graphics demand can be handled by the integrated GPU. The Intel integrated GPU in your machine performs quite well and uses shared RAM pretty well. Also there are nvidia reports that it's latest generic nvidia drivers from the nvidia download site sometimes give false readings in Task Manager. That shouldn't be of concern if you're still using the Acer OEM nvidia drivers or OEM updates from the Acer download site. .

I have downloaded nvidia drivers from their site. When I get back home I will uninstall them and I will download acer oem nvidia drivers for acer download site. Thank you.
