    Hello!!

    @Sifi07,

    Below is the SSD specification for Acer Swift SF114-32 laptop.

    NOTE: The MAX SSD capacity tested confirmed working as 256GB.

    Since you have installed 500GB capacity, the laptop seems to be NOT recognizing it. Hope this helps you.

    Regards,

    Two potential problems.

    1. The tensioning hold down screw is missing. This can adversely affect contacts, power & ground.

    2. This is a bleeding edge PCIe v4 card that should be backward compatible with your older PCIe v3 bus but budget brands often aren't truly backward compatible.

    Yes, it's also important to note that if you get that card working, it will not perform to it's rated speed, since you will be running it at the PCIe 3.0 spec.

    So it is a fact that the Swift 1 is not compatible with any SSD's with over 256 GB memory? That really sucks because the lady over the phone sold me this 512 GB that I cannot get to be recognized on BIOS or the Device Manager. So I guess Im out $75..

    There could be two issues.

    1. There is no tensioning hold down screw. This may have a negative impact on connections, power, and ground.

    2. This cutting-edge PCIe v4 card should work with your older PCIe v3 bus, although budget brands frequently don't offer true backward compatibility.

    @XSS404 you don't say which Swift 1 you have? Some models don't support NVMe drives, only SATA. Which model do you have? It should be something like SF1xx-xxx-xxxx and the model number is on the same sticker as your serial number.

    Ok so this is XSS404. I forgot what email I logged in with last time. So I have a Swift SF114-32 and here are my BIOS pics and also I bought a 256GB PCIe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 SSD P34A60 Supports NVMe 1.3 made by silicone-power and I cant figure out how to get this to show up either. Its not showing in my device manager or BIOS and when or if I get my PC to recognize it then what do I do to get everything in order? Im worried Im gonna royally f something up. How do I partition and which drive do I choose for what?

    xss404null Your model has a 64G emmc boot chip. So with the m.2 card installed, boot into Windows. The press WIN+R. Enter 'diskmgmt.msc'. Post a screenshot of result.

    With VTD enabled you will have to install the drivers as part of the OS install before the new drive will be recognized.
