What is the likely cause of my Aspire Laptop (a515-54-5649) not powering on?

Last time my computer was on, I was using it to work on an excel sheet. I did not use it again for about a day and it would not power it on. Any ideas of what is causing the issue or likely components that may have malfunctioned. I have attached a picture of the guts of my laptop. As far as I can tell there is no water damage.

  • Hi,

You could try disconnecting the battery, CMOS battery, press power button for few seconds, leave the laptop to rest for 15Mins, reconnect CMOS battery and the battery, fully charge the battery and see whether it helps, it's hard to find failed components visually, you need proper tools to check them, I would suggest you take it to a local Laptop repair shop, they will be able to spot the faulty component.

    Hi @SpartanFromTexas

That does not look like the original Murata battery that comes with the a515-54, I see no Acer partnumber sticker. Remove that battery and try to turn on the laptop without a battery. If that works get the correct original Acer battery as attached ($50).
