I'm looking to upgrade my hard drive ...and maybe the RAM in my Aspire ..I see in some comments..threads they can take 2 types of hard drive ..is this one or the other depending on the age / exact version...or is there room for both ?

Does any one have any pictures of their aspire with the base cover removed, that they could share?

I bought mine in July August this year if that makes any difference

Thanks

    Hi,

You have one M.2 SSD slot and in which you can install a NVMe SSD and a HDD bay, as for the memory, you may have either 4GB or a 8GB onboard(soldered) and a slot for upgrade, you can install a 16GB DDR4 with same speed as your current RAM, but avoid buying any modules with XMP profile.

Thanks to all who answered my question, seeing that I could add a second hard drive is really good news

where can I get the screws and is there a frame .. a carrier that holds it all in place?

No problem, I would suggest you secure the HDD with a double sided tape or something similar to secure the HDD to the main body, but if you insist on getting the caddy and the screws, get the caddy(Part number: 33.A6MN2.001) and for screws, any hardware stores or Laptop repair shop may have those screws, 4 M2.0x4.0 another 4 M.2.0x3.0 to attach the HDD to the bracket.
