I recently replaced a battery on the above Acer as the previous one was causing windows to go slow. I tried to batteries and neither of them show any details in the Acer battery software, other than all zeros.

The batteries are fully charged but won't stay on if I remove the power supply.

Only thing I can think of is SW1 isn't being pressed but for the life of me I can't see it.

I can only see SWG2

The normally-on spring-loaded battery disconnect switch SWG1 should be directly under the bottom cover battery reset pinhole near the RAM socket. Sometimes pressing its button with your fingernail or hard object, and then letting the button slip or flick off your nail or object and spring back up, will help clean the contacts.

Some mainboards also have a nearby SWG2 switch (or an SWG2 labelled solder bump but no actual SWG2 switch). SWG2 would be a normally-off spring-loaded safety switch that cuts all power to the mainboard if the base cover isn't properly aligned or tightened to press against the switch button to keep it in the on position.
