Im having issues with my FPS / refresh rate on my notebook. I run it along with an Acer monitor that has 165hz refresh rate.
I use it mainly for gaming and the issue is that when I open some games it seems that my FPS is capped, or that is, im having HUGE frame skips. The problem is, all FPS counters I use (GPU FPS counter, CS:GO FPS counter, iRacing FPS counter) do count as if Im having a 165 fps just like it would normally.
The issue solves if I restart my notebook, but it is very annoying as it comes out of nowhere. It happens when Im already using the laptop for a few hours and then start a game. If im already playing a game, the issue does not appear. It is only when Im switching from using the internet or some other thing and then I start a game.
Also, the FPS/Refresh Rate cap then does not happen exclusevely on gaming. After the issue appears, even in tasks like dragging a Folder around in my desktop, i can see the frame skipping happening. It feels like im capped at 30 or 50 fps. Really strange.
Can someone help me? Is this an common issue? I hope I was able to explain it clearly. If not, im happy to give more details and find a solution to it.
Thanks!
