How do I drain residual power from the motherboard on my Acer Swift 5?

I keep hearing a buzzing sound from my laptop when it’s off, and I believe it’s residual power - I’ve tried to hold down the power button and also tried the battery reset hole, but the buzzing doesn’t go away. How do I drain the residual power? Any help is much appreciated!

It not likely to be anything to do with residual power on the motherboard. Residual power is basically the power held in the various capacitors on the board and is much smaller than the power the battery supplies. Draining residual power is usually needed when doing a full reset of the battery or when getting ready to work directly on the motherboard. When the noise appears, is the laptop actually off or just in a sleep mode? I've seen instances where an errant app can trigger noise on the speakers when sleeping, maybe you are seeing something similar.

I hear the noise when the laptop is fully powered off (full shutdown) - it's sort of a high pitched buzzing or whining. (Note the noise is very faint, and you can only hear it if you lean close to the computer.)
