The battery of my acer predator triton 300 drains very quickly. It goes from 100% charge to critical state 5%, in less than two hours. I understand that on this model, this is not normal.

    Battery report seems fine.

So search Windows start menu 'battery saver' . Click battery saver settings near top of menu. Make sure sleep is set to never on battery alone. Turn battery saver on. Checkmark lower screen brightness. Close all apps, programs, games or browsers that you manually started after startup. Then let the battery charge to 100% if not already. Unplug the charger. Then walk away from the idling laptop. Check charge level every hour or so.

How long does the battery seem to last with an idling laptop that's simply turned on with a dimmed desktop that you're not using?

If you change the screen refresh rate to 60 Hz the battery life is greatly increased with normal browsing and probably with gaming as-well. You will see the difference on your screen, but if battery life is important this will help.

    To do this-

(1)-Right click on your desktop background and click Display settings or press the letter "D".

(2)-Scroll down to Advanced display settings and click it.

(3)-select the Refresh rate drop-down menu and click 60.000 Hz.

The screen will go black for a second while the new refresh rate is applied.

You will get a Popup asking if you want to keep the changes and you need to click yes before the 10 second countdown expires. you will notice a difference but you will also have better battery life.

Another thing you can check is in the acer "care center" app in there there is an option to turn off the battery charging limit which preserves the health of the battery, only do this if you don't mind replacing the battery a little more often.
