[HELP] System temperatures rising with Ethernet adapter on

Ok, so I've been having some issues with my system temperature lately.

I cannot have my Ethernet adapter enabled because everytime I do enable it, the system temperature rises from 45 degrees to 68-70 degrees. That means I cannot use fast Ethernet connections and downloading stuff has become an serious issue for me.

I honestly don't know if it is a hardware malfunction, a temperature reading problem (as my CPU and GPU are always cool), or if it is a driver problem (I've tried to update, roll-back, uninstall and reinstall). It is really frustrating as I'm not a tech guy and I don't want anything shortening my laptop lifespan.

The only short-term solution I've found is to disable my Killer Ethernet E2600 Adapter.

Takes power to run the adapter. 70*C is NOT at all a very high temperature for a helios 300. I'm not sure why you think that you can't use the wired connection.

As I said, I'm not that big of a tech guy so I just imagined there was something wrong happening. A 20 degrees spike is at least concerning for the average person. I know higher temperatures tend to shorten the lifespan of a laptop, so I was quite worried. But as you said and as people are telling me, I shouldn't be worried if the system temperature isn't going over 90 degrees. Anyway, I guess I will plug in the Ethernet cable only when downloading big files.

Saw another post saying the PCH chipset is where the "System Temperature" comes from and as it has no heatsink, tends to heat quite a bit. They explain how to install the heatsink, but I'm better off not experimenting with this stuff and damaging my laptop.
