I have the above model laptop, which is now 16 months old. I have had no issues with it until this weekend when the screen suddenly went black.
I've done some research but I'm by no means computer literate. The laptop is holding full charge. I've turned it off using the small hole in the base, left it for ages but it still doesn't turn on.
I've plugged it into the TV and it works perfectly so I must have a screen issue. Any ideas what I can attempt to resolve the problem? Remember, I'm no geek so an "*****'s Guide" would be appreciated!

Hi,
You could check the display cable and reseat it, if that doesn't help you may have to replace the panel, the panel in your model secured by double sided sticker, so when you check the cable make sure to check the panel before using the double sided sticker, anyway, watch the video and if you are happy with the procedure, go ahead and fix the new panel, otherwise get it done by a local laptop repair shop.

This is the third report from a person who says the display went out inadvertently. Does your model have windows 11? Have you tried pressing the fn+f6 and fn+f5 keys?
You might also try reinstalling the video drivers using the external screen, though Acer hasn't yet released any W11 specific drivers for your model.
billsey - thanks for your response. How would I go about "reinstalling the video drivers" as I'm not very computer literate?
egydiocoelho - I've tried pressing both the sets of two keys but to no avail. I do operate Windows 11, would this be the issue?
brummyfan2 - the video is very helpful and I'm reasonably confident I can do the screen replacement. The links to the Suppliers of the screens you suggest don't open. Can you suggest any UK Suppliers? I see eBay do them but I don't know the quality of the screens on offer.
Hi,
I have found few retailers in UK, I haven't used them but read the reviews by the customers and seems good, you read them and make up your mind, try avoiding ebay because the retailers in ebay sometimes will not send you the actual make of panel, they might send you a compatible panel(means cheaper panel from different manufacturer), anyway, before you order, get a confirmation that you will receive the exact make from the retailer by contacting them.

Brummyfan2 - thanks for your further response. If all else fails I will buy a new screen and have a go at fitting it myself.
You have certainly gone the "extra mile" to help me and this is most appreciated.
Simon
Bought a new screen and successfully fitted it today. Thanks for everyone's input and a particular big thank you to brummyfan2.
Hi Guys. I don't believe it but I have another problem with my laptop. I fitted the new screen and the laptop worked perfectly. Two days ago the screen started to go black but only sporadically. It mainly occurs when the cursor goes over a box in which you can enter search data. I can watch BBC/ITV/Sky Sports football matches without a problem so it can't be a faulty screen or connection.
Any ideas on what I can try to sort out the problem? Please remember I'm not very computer literate so very simple instructions would be appreciated!
Cheers
Simon
Can you record a video of the problem?

@AmirMahdi you don't have a SF114-32 model, so this thread is not an appropriate place for your question.
