Hello.

I just bought an Acer Swift 3.

Today it was working fine, but suddenly it stopped working.

When turning it on, all the keys were on, but the screen does not turn on. The fan is heard but it does not go beyond that.

I appreciate the help.

We need to know which Swift 3 model you have, there have been literally hundreds of different ones over the years. :) It should be something like SF3xx-xxx-xxxx and the model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number. Try this, press and hold the power button until everything turns off. Disconnect all cables, including the charger, flip the laptop over and use something like a bent paperclip to press and hold the button under the battery reset pinhole for 15-30 seconds. Release the button and wait for 15 minutes or so, then plug only the charger back in. Wait for the indicator to show a full battery and turn it back on.

Hi, I did the procedure as you indicated and no, still the same problem. All the keys turn on, the fan sounds and immediately turns off, and it does not turn on.

Thanks, SF314-43-R2YY helps a lot toward knowing just what you have... So, since the battery reset procedure didn't do anything we know it's not one of the simple issues where the battery gets confused and thinks it's gone bad. The keyboard lights come on, so you are getting power and the power on circuit is working. Most likely the issue is then a child failure on the motherboard, where it doesn't get up and running far enough to start POST. If it's been a short enough time, swap it out with your vendor since that will be fastest, if it's been too long then contact Acer for warranty repair.

This issue I came across 15 months after I bought Swift 3 and now the computer is useless, everything I tried I found on the internet, no avail. It is beyond warranty, and it is as if laptop was set to die right after the warranty period expired. Worst computer I have ever purchased. I got a Lenovo now.

o you have exactly the same model as the original poster does? If not, you are likely better served to open your own thread. Just saying "Swift 3" means you could have any of hundreds of different models.
