Hello All,

Just purchased a Aspire 5 15.6. I've only had it about a month, and I'm getting random BSoD and at the most unoportune times. I purchased this machine for work, so when you're in the middle of a confernce call and, well you see what I mean. I get the error code "VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR", so I suppose it's something to do with the video subsystem? I upgraded all the video drivers and bios first, didn't help. Then upgraded the rest of the outdated drivers (you think it would be updated from the factory?) and still blue screening. Memory issue? The first 8gb is soldiered into the MB, so that's great. Is there a diagnostics routine that is available to thouroughly exercise these things and find out where the problem might be? Acer says "Oh, return it and we'll see if we can find something." I tried to explain that I purchased it for work, like my livelyhood and can't be without it for a couple of weeks. Anyway I'm open to any/all suggestions as I really like the PC. Thanks

    Hi,

Open CMD as Administrator and run sfc /scannow command, then run dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth command, after completing repeat sfc /scannow at least 3 times and see whether it helps.

Please follow the instructions in this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yEnuxJqQKg

I don't know what your level of expertise is? As and btw, with a new laptop or PC with a preinstalled OS, the manufacturer does not have the OS up to date and with the latest drivers, as a matter of a fact, it way have sat for months on the shelf and updates have not been upkept with most of its drivers, OS updates, bios and even vbios that Acer has an update for some gpu's. as all users go wrong in this respect and that is why they have allot of their problems. as they should make sure that laptops/PC's are always up to date with the latest windows updates and other drivers also, as the new drivers keep your system functioning at its peak and especially graphics performance. Also, and if you are not using Win-11, I would suggest upgrading to Win-11 and its latest version 22H2 which MS has rolled out updates for that is a superior OS and works 100%. Good luick and hope this helps you out.

    Hi @LI_Smith

You can try to do a reset to check if that makes any difference.

Check the above link to do a reset.

If not you can check the below steps

How Factory Reset Your PC using Acer Reset key

    1. Press the Power key for 5 seconds to power off Acer computer completely. Then restart the computer and press Alt + F10 when its logo shows up.
    2. Select Troubleshoot > Reset your PC. ...
    3. Click Next, then select Just remove my files.
    4. Press Reset to begin the recovery.

NOTE: Make sure to backup all the data before the reset.

Hope it will help you in some way.
