Hello Team,

I have laptop Acer aspire E1 series, model nu: Q5WPH, whose motherboard is dead.

I found another scrapped laptop whose model nu: Q5WTC,

Looking wise both motherboard are same but technically if I replace acer Q5WPH with Q5WTC then will it support ?

Please help.

Thank you

Please seek the help of a local tech. They will check whether the motherboard is compatible to install on the laptop. Even if it is not compatible they will help you to get the right motherboard as they will be having multiple motherboards with them.

Your E1-531G Q5WPH Acer SG lists 2x different types of mobos for this laptop, the first is the, UMA Acer part #: NB.M0Q11.001 or the Discrete Acer part#: NB.M0T11.001 types. Looking at the E1-531G which is the Q5WPH type and the Q5WTC type, both look the same in every way and should have the same bios and chipsets as all the drivers should work from your E1-531G which is the Q5WPH.

The only way that you can find this out is by firing the other Q5WPH mobo up and and pairing it up with the OS boot drive that you have for your Q5WPH, as when you fire it up it should work straight away if its not then it won't work or boot, Btw, I did the same with two different Acer laptops the Aspire 5750 and PnP its SSD boot drive into an Aspire V3-571G and it fired up and booted up straight away, as the drivers were basically the same. I should not think that these two mobos are much different as they look the same and will not be a problem.
