Model: Acer Nitro 5 AN515-53-52FA

Windows 11

This afternoon after a Steam game update I restarted the laptop. On reboot it showed the Acer logo, system loading icon, and than it went to a black screen. I have had this issue in the past and would use Alt+CTRL+DEL which would pull the Windows Login up. After that I attempted to do the following:

  • Normal restart,
  • Hard restart,
  • Restart holding F2 then F9 [Yes], and then F10 [Yes],
  • Pressed battery reset waited five minutes and restarted,
  • Startup Repair resulting in a Startup Repair couldn't repair PC,
  • System Restore two times to two different system back up dates that were available,
  • and a Factory Reset.

Any Ideas on what to try next?

Shut laptop off. Turn it back on and immediately start tapping F2 to enter BIOS menu. Please post phone photos of BIOS INFORMATION & MAIN tabs after pressing Ctrl+S if possible

Does this happen every time? Or just sometimes? Either way, open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do' in left pane. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable' near top of next pane. Scroll down and UNcheck box for fast startup. Save settings and exit. Shut down Windows normally. Wait a minute or two, then turn it back on.

When I click the Admin for settings it goes away and no more additional prompts appear. Having to press CTRL ALT DEL doesnt happen as often since I upgraded to Windows 11.

Search 'cmd' in Windows start menu. Right click command prompt to run as administrator. At the command prompt enter 'powercfg -h off'
