Nitro 5 515-55 not working with certain external monitors

I have been trying to connect an external monitor to my nitro 5, however I came to find that older monitors or TV's would actually detect and work with an hdmi cable. When trying to connect the nitro 5 to a newer monitor 144hz for example, it does not detect another monitor and the monitor has no signal. I have tried all of the typical steps such as updating and reinstalling drivers, and have even talked to acer support but they just want me to send it in for repair. However, I know the hardware is working and there is some sort of software issue going on and would prefer to solve this myself without shipping out my laptop.

I am not exactly sure how this special laptop graphics card and ports work and if those are causing the issue. Further, when i disable the intel integrated display adapter graphics the shell monitor does not switch to the 3050's display adapter, but generic microsoft graphics instead. Is it not possible to put the main screen on the graphics card adapter and thus have the hdmi and shell both on graphics adapter. When the hdmi does work with older monitors or a tv it uses the nvidia display adapter rather than intel integrated. Am I able to change which adapter either the shell uses or the port? What other steps can I take to get this hdmi port working with newer monitors?

Are you trying to connect a newer 144Hz monitor and another monitor at the same time?
