Acer Aspire R11 (R3-131T) Will upgrading RAM & SSD make my CPU perform a bit better?

Hi,

As the question says, I have an Acer Aspire R11 (R3-131T). I've noticed that my CPU, which is an Intel Celeron N3050 1.6GHz, tends to reach 100% utilization fairly easily. I'm pretty sure im not able to upgrade my CPU as its soldered on to the MoBo, so that's that.

But what IS upgradeable is my RAM, which is currently 2GB, and im planning on upgrading it to the max that is allowed by my laptop, which is 8GB. The other thing that is upgradeable is the SSD, though I cant install an Internal SSD, I can get an External SSD instead, which by the way is going to be 500GB.

Now, im wondering if either or both of those upgrades can possibly increase my CPU's performance even just a bit.

I'll probably be getting the mentioned upgrades either way but Im just curious as to wether or not they'll make my CPU better.

The Aspire R11-R3-131T is a 2015 11-inch convertible which is what Acer describes it as? You have to realise that its specs are pretty low and its Braswell Celeron N3050 cpu is only a 2 cores, 2 threads at 1.6GHz standard and runs at max 2.167 GHz turbo frequencies ( L2 Cache of 2MB and TDP of 6W and an integrated Intel Gen 8-LP graphics) this is a very basic laptop and you should be aware of that first before you attempt to spend any money on this laptop, as for the same expenditure you can probably buy the ram and ssd coupled to a newer and better laptop, so consider that also.

Also, this laptop only operates with DDR3L type ram, so and really whatever upgrades you do to this laptop the cpu is going to be its biggest bottle neck. The best ram to upgrade to is a 1x 8GB DDR3L-1600 SODIMM - DDR3-1600 • CL=11 • NON-ECC • SODIMM • 204-pin • 1.35V • 2Rx8 • PC3-12800 spec and if you want to see of an upgrade to an internal ssd look here, so consider that? But and remember that all these upgrades will increase your performance greatly but at the same time it will increase the workability of the cpu also so you will get no advantage or any reduction in your cpu overheating, unless you use a tablet cooler or modify the case so that extra air can circulate the case of the laptop and cool the cpu. So what you're saying is that if I were to actually get the upgrades I talked about, I should get a laptop cooler in case it starts to show signs of overheating?

Im aware of the RAM type that needs to be installed, and I already have it ready to buy. However, you mentioned I could get an internal SSD, but as I said above, I opened up my laptop to find out that there is no soldered connector on the MoBo, so there is no way for me to install an internal SSD. I was told that I could get an internal SSD instead, unless there actually IS a way to install an internal one, which I doubt. By the way, this is the external SSD I found compatible on Crucial and the one I plan on getting:

And bottom line is neither of these upgrades will help the CPU run better correct?

The upgrades of an 8GB ram and an ssd will assist but the cpu is not going to perform any better or run cooler as its like having problems with arthritis and you get a heart transplant, The cpu's performance can't be improved unless you change the Celeron N3050 cpu, which can be done but it will cost you 5x more its worth spending on this upgrade. Also, a tablet cooler will help to reduce some heat (very minimal) but it won't be enough. As I've said, you be much better off getting a higher spec laptop, spend a bit more dollars as that would be a better upgrade.
