Blank New drive for OS. Can't restore. Windows install fails complaining about drivers. Workaround?

Okso, WD drive for OS wasn't good enough. Got firecuda, which worked a treat. Not sure why Acer doesn't offer these in the first place, but not about that. After a while as was needed for work I installed Linux on this lovely laptop. That too worked like a charm. Then I needed to get back to my usual games and fun and went to install windows from a usb-iso. And that miserably failed. Because "drivers."

I poked at the acer.com for assist, and was not terribly surprised that the assist is of the "self" variety. Filled out the sad-song ticket anyway, and waiting for their reply. I hear they rely on the automated process that will likely tell me to send this laptop in for reimage, instead of pointing me to the link with the iso for their windows install.

Anyone here knows if there is a place to get the reimage iso?

Go to this link to make a USB installation drive using Microsoft's media creation tool on a Windows computer, or download the iso on a Linux computer. acerwiniso-10 .

Tried that. Are you sure that using Microsoft's media creation tool on a Windows computer is going to yield different results compared to same ISO created on a mac or linux? Do you perhaps have a link to the restore ISO used by Acer? Asking because after some digging I found that they indeed offer it on a USB, which they will send to your preferred address to the humble tune of about $60-ish. Seems a bit silly if they already charged for the OS and efforts of creating a recovery partition on the default drive. About $60 worth of silly. Wouldn't it be like getting charged for a meal, but you have to pay extra for seasoning?

Try downloading using Microsoft's media creation tool onto your USB drive, but not as the ISO file option. Then boot from USB drive and try to install win 10 to internal drive. This may work. Steve

Not sure you'll get any different message with the generic Microsoft installation tool or the Acer OEM recovery USB. Is the BIOS still set to AHCI SATA mode?
