I have a damaged eDP cable on my Nitro 5 laptop. I bought a replacement cable, but am unsure how to disconnect the old one from the mobo. I yanked off the tiny piece of tape that goes across the top of the connector trying to dislodge it. Thank you for any advice you might offer.

I don't know which exact Nitro model you have but, the Nitro laptops are basically the same with replacing the eDP cable, do the following after the you take the screen off from the bottom case and unscrewed the hinges and disconnected the eDP cable from the mobo and you have also pried the surrounding screen bezel off:

    1. Pry slightly to access the double-sided mounting tape underneath the LCD panel.
    2. Carefully flip the LCD panel to reveal the eDP cable connector
    3. Detach the mylar securing the eDP cable to the LCD panel connector.
    4. Disconnect the eDP cable from the LCD panel connector. Then remove the LCD panel.

Thank you for your detailed reply with photos. I just needed to yank at the cable with a bit more force.
