When pressing the booting button, the keyboard lights up, but not the screen (not at all, not even even the backlighting).
Here's a list of what I've tried :
- Longpressing the power button : it turns off but won't boot
- Plugging the HDMI output to an external monitor : no signal
- Power drain by pressing the battery pinhole several times : no results
- Try to access BIOS by mashing different keys on the keyboard while trying to boot up the laptop : still no results
- I have created a bootable USB key with a light linux distro on it and tried all the usb ports with it : nothing

The laptop belongs to my wife, so i don't exactly know what happened before that. It was working perfectly well this morning.
The laptop is rather new (~ 4-5 months old).

I'm afraid it could be a hardware problem... :/

Does someone have any clue?

(sorry if made mistakes here and there, english is not my native language)

Edit : I've tried with another usb key that has a LED on it when used, the light doesn't turn on

What happens when you try to turn the screen backlight on with the FN+F6 toggle key combination?

  • Do you know if windows update tried to update the bios?

    No, I don't know. How can I know ?
I can't even access the BIOS

I don't care to loose all my data, they're stocked in a cloud.

    >>>Plugging the HDMI output to an external monitor : no signal>>>

Did you also try to turn the external screen on with FN+F5 toggle key combo?

Did you try the full battery reset procedure, or just pressed the button under the pin hole? Make sure you press and hold it for 30 seconds or so then wait for several minutes before plugging the charger back in, then wait again for the charger to show a full charge before trying to turn it back on.

I just did (2 minutes pressing the button, an hour touching nothing and then a night of charge until the led turns blue) : still nothing.

One thing : I noticed that fans were turning on when the laptop begins to heat up.
