Genshin Impact caused Acer Nitro 5 to bluescreen of death

I was previously able to open Genshin Impact on my PC in the "same session", but after I tried to run the game again, a Windows prompt displayed this error code 0xc000012d. Afterward, I tried to repair Genshin Impact through its launcher. Unfortunately, the error was still present, and as a double whammy, this appeared:

I did some digging and 0xc000012d can be caused by "Improper Windows shutdown, or restart/reboot, for example, because of a power failure," which did happen, but it was unrelated to Genshin Imapct, and I can't remember what the code for that one was. Right now I'll try to run Genshin Impact again and see if it's still persistent. If so, I'll try to reinstall Genshin Impact. Aside from that, if any more relevant information is needed, like OS version, drivers, etc., I'll add it.

  • Hi! Press alt+f10 before the Acer logo. Then look for an option that enables safeboot:
Start your PC in safe mode in Windows
Let me know if the problem persists when you enable safeboot.

    Hi @BunE

You can try to do a BIOS reset to check if that makes any difference.

How do I reset my BIOS/UEFI to default settings?
    1. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, or until your system shuts completely down.
    2. Power on the system.
    3. Press F9 and then Enter to load the default configuration.
    4. Press F10 and then Enter to save and exit.
If in case that doesn't work then you can try to do a reset to check if that makes any difference.

Check the above link to do a reset.

NOTE: Make sure to backup all the data before the reset.

Hope it will help you in some way.

Thank you for the answer, I appreciate it but the problem seems to have been "self-resolved" after I rebooted my PC.
