Aspire A715 71G: Is it possible to upgrade to 1TB SSD?

Hi,
I'm considering upgrading the SSD in my laptop. By reading articles on the community (https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/547789/acer-aspire-a715-71g-hdd-and-ssd-upgrade) I saw that the compatible SSDs go up to 512GB. But does it mean that it won't with 1TB disks or just that it wasn't tested?
For example, would the Crucial P2 SSD 1TB work for this model?
Also, so far I was able to gather the following information regarding the requirements:
- PCIe 3.0,
- 2280 form factor
Are there other limitations that I should be aware (like max speed or so?)

Good choice. You should be able to go up to 2TB with no issues except more money. :)

Okay that's good news! I have a follow-up question: I'm also looking to upgrade my RAM. On crucial's website they list two different nomenclatures for memory "modules" (single RAM chip) and memory "kits" (pairs of chips, e.g. 2x8GB). Now, I know that preferrably I should buy sets of two, but does it make a difference whether I buy a single module twice, or buy them both together as a kit? (I ask because it would be cheaper to buy two separate modules)

A closely matched nominal frequency pair kit might have slightly better performance in theory --- but maybe not too noticeably better in practice --- if the mainboard supports dual channel RAM. If the matched pair price is significantly more, I wouldn't bother.
