Why do I have to put my nitro 5 charger in the freezer to work sometimes?

Lately, I have been having trouble with the charger on my nitro 5, it seems to stop working randomly after I unplug it and then plug it back in, my thoughts are that it was overheating but even after leaving overnight it still had the issue, yet putting it in the freezer seems to work. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Insulation on the copper choke & transformer coils soldered to the charger circuit board is likely failing and causing short circuits as the coils expand on heating up. Cooling them down will sometimes shrink the coils and temporarily prevent shorting until they heat back up. This is usually how coils fail. You need to replace the charger. Usually less than $25usd for new replacements. Just google your full Nitro5 model number, for example AN515-44 and charger for vendors who ship to your location.
