Extend to display 2 VGA monitors (no HDMI on Chromebook 315) while charging the Chromebook?

HI, I have the Chromebook 315, I have tried various adapters and docking but none work yet to extend (not mirror) the display to two separate VGA monitors and be able to charge my Chromebook 315 at the same time.  This model does not have HDMI, it does have 2 USB C but one is for the charging adapter. Can someone please tell me the exact product which will let me hook two extended displays up (the manual says it is capable but doesn't say how) and still have the Chromebook 315 able to charge at the same time? Thanks for any help.

You will need a USB-C to VGA adapter that has power pass through, like this one. That should allow both the video out (using a DP to VGA conversion, since the Alt Mode video is DP) and charging power in.

Please do, if for no other reason than the next user with the question will know for sure it works. :)

We are going to have to know which of the Chromebook 315 models you have. It should be something like CB315-xxx-xxxx.  Different model years and locales will have different specs.

It does!  And I was even able to get rid of the tape that was holding the old VGA adapter together since it didn't have any screws to tighten it down! Thanks again :)

Hey @billsey, maybe you could help me out too. I have the same laptop but purchased this USB Hub to try and do an extended display to 2 monitors. When I go to settings I get the attached screen….I don't get an option to extend my display. Any advice? Thanks in advance :)

Yeah, the Extend thing is for Windows. I'm not seeing the second display in your Settings; Display capture though.
