Today my charger suddenly broke; smells a bit funny (a little like burnt plastic) and doesn't charge my laptop anymore. This happened suddenly while I was using my laptop while it was charging.
At first, I saw that my laptop was charging, but all of a sudden a Battery Low notification popped up and so I discovered that something was wrong. I have tried the battery reset already and have tried other sockets in the house, but nothing happened. That was when I sniffed my charger and found out that it smelled a bit burnt.
I haven't gone to a service center in my area yet as this was so sudden, but I found out that since the charger is the problem, it should be replaced. So I searched for adapters online.
I have found this in an online shopping site (
https://shopee.ph/product/119713535/5435378013?smtt=0.86478336-1658668468.9) and this charger/adapter shares the same specs as mine.
My laptop's model name: AN515-57-53SB
Adapter is a Delta ADP-180TB F with the specs:
180W
Input:100-240V, 50-60Hz
Output:19.5V / 9.23A
Connector Size: 5.5mm x 1.7mm
Since it has the same specs and I am quite sure that the problem is with my charger, would it be okay for me to buy this already? Or should I still go to a service center in my area and let them fix my charger or something?
Your advises would be a great help. This is my first time experiencing this. Thank you!
