Why is my BIOS limited? is there a way to unlock the normal BIOS menu? Predator Orion 5000 (PO5-640)

My purchased Pc: Predator Orion 5000 (PO5-640)

So, as it says in the title:

Why is my BIOS limited? (its promoted as a gamer PC, so we gamers expect to be able to tweak our XMP profiles and other settings)

Can i unlock the normal features? (XMP etc.)

And how do i flash this BIOS to the latest version? i have downloaded the new version and read the instructions with some screenshots that were in the flashing guide.

The problem is that the screenshots are completely different from the version i have with different options so it makes no sense ( there were guides for 3 different flash tools, but not the one for my machine). Why is your installation guide not updated to current standards?

The machine under performs vs cheaper machines with same graphic settings, significant fps difference !

A bios update/flash was advised but you don't have the proper guide to it.

I am not impressed, unreachable customer support service via phone and very bad support as far as instructions go.

The website doesn't even recognize my pc's serial, SNID or p/n numbers when i wanted to register my product. When dialing customer service the first thing the automated answering service asks is my serial number (which is not recognized), so i cant advance because of that !!!!

i would like to update my BIOS, maybe that will improve performance on my 2.400,- euros machine !

And don't come with "we don't give BIOS support", i couldn't care less, you should have made these things clear to your retailers so they can tell us these things.

I would like a flash guide to MY bios version so i can make the right choices when doing so.

Since you are unreachable to speak in person (im from the Netherlands, your support is an automated answering service) i hope you will give me something useful here, otherwise i will be returning this machine because you or your sales person failed to mention that the BIOS has been limited on this "gaming" rig. It's like buying a race car but aren't able to check the **** engine, its ridiculous.

You don't need to "Why is my BIOS limited? (its promoted as a gamer PC, so we gamers expect to be able to tweak our XMP profiles and other settings)" as the bios is adequately set to use these memory modules at their peak performances. You have to appreciate that a prebuilt is setup for consumers that don't want or have the expertise to overclock and cause damage to their PC's. If you want peak and better performance in pre built desktops like the PO5-640 then increase the ram and upgrade to faster ram and do the Crucial System Scan as that will also guide you to all the appropriate and max ram suitable for your desktop.

With the bios update, download the BIOS_Acer_R01-A3_Windows (20220221) package from the Acer site, then follow in the Appendix PDF "ME FW & System BIOS Update SOP for Windows v3.10" guide that instructs you to go to the "Win folder" and use the executable file "AFUWINx64" to update the bios and follow the instructions as it will be on your screen to do this bios update, its a simple process. Calm down as the PO5-640 is a great desktop for the 2.400 euros and if you want to improve it even further, upgrade the cpu cooling to the NH-U9S chromax.black and also upgrade to this desktops max ram as all this will make your Predator PO5-640 a great gaming editing and top of the range desktops out there for your investment.

XMP is in the Advanced; CPU and Chipset menu in the BIOS, as are several other tweaks. You don't actually directly run AFUWINx64.exe, just execute the batch file which will run it using the correct parameters. If you want to see the output from that run the batch file from an elevated command prompt so the window doesn't go away at the end of the update.

When the website doesn't recognize your SN or SNID it almost always means you are not on the site for your locale. For instance, if you are in the Netherlands and are using the USA site it won't find your stuff in the database since it's only looking at USA models.

Also, this is a community support board, so your message isn't reaching anyone other than other Acer users, no Acer engineers or tech support people are here. That latest BIOS you downloaded does state it provides performance improvements, so should help.

Well I just upgraded to RO1-A4 AND it killed Windows. Followed the instructions on a brand new machine and bios update-error code bootatable drive not found. After trying all the usual tricks to get the pc running again as well as messing with the bios boot sequence. Nothing!! had to re install.
