I have had my Acer Aspire A317-33-C49D laptop since June 2021 and have had no issues until about three days ago that I noticed that the battery is not lasting as long as it used to. It usually lasted about 5 to 7 hours on a single charge, now it barely lasts an hour before I have to plug in the charger. Also it would take about an 1 hour to fully charge, now it takes 20 minutes to fully charge. I want to know if I need to replace the battery and where can I buy it for my specific model/laptop? Acer doesn't sell replacement batteries on their site they told me to contact Capital Data - http://www.capitaldatausa.com/ but I haven't gotten a response and the battery I need isn't on their website.

Try to regenerate the battery by completely discharging the battery until it turns off and then fully charging the battery to its 100% charge, do this a few times as batteries do deteriorate with age (its normal) but especially if you mainly have them plugged in to mains or you don't regenerate them by totally discharging them and recharging them periodically. If its your battery that is faulty then the OEM Aspire A317-33-C49D is a 2-cell, Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) which you can get from many outlets and Capitol Data is probably one of them but, I've never use Capitol Data before as I've purchased replacement batteries from either eBay, Amazon or specialist and reputable battery outlet like BatteryStore,eu  which are all none OEM as that is the only option that consumers have for a replacement, which btw are mainly not new and are old batteries that are refurbished.

    Note:
The ACER Aspire 3 A317-33-C49D Laptop Battery life will be decreased if the battery is being placed around magnetic field such as television. Keep it away from metal objects to avoid short circuit. It is highly recommended to place the battery in a cool and dry environment.

To maintain your ACER Aspire 3 A317-33-C49D Laptop Battery you need to keep its connectors clean and free of contaminants at its pins, a dirty battery connector is usually the leading factor that result in some main problems of batteries and chargers. After using the ACER Aspire 3 A317-33-C49D Laptop Battery, try to use a clean, soft and dry cloth to clean the metal connectors of your ACER Aspire 3 A317-33-C49D Laptop Battery. Please take out the battery from your machine when it is not being used.
