Hi there!

Platform:
Acer Aspire  A515-56, Bios 1.26, Linux Fedora 35, kernel 5.18.11

Problem description:
After updating bios version 1.20 (shipped default bios) to version 1.26 suspend start to malfunction/not working properly, initially suspends to ram (deep sleep) seems to function properly. Now problem starts when I try to wake up laptop from suspend keyboards lights up, fan starts to spin but display remain dark nothing happens. Whatever key-pres I do nothing changes display stays dark (as with no signal). Only thing I can do in such situation is to shutdown with long power button press and reboot.

Attaching dmesg and journalctl log files it is noticeable flooded with ACPI Bios bug error messages...

  • Have you updated to version 1.26 or 1.28? Does the same problem occur when you reset the bios? Access the bios and then press f9 to restore settings and f10 to save and exit.

Updated stock bios 1.20 to 1.26. Already done bios reset to default as proposed, no difference. Probably or bios bug or Linux kernel not supporting this bios yet as quite recent version? Some Linux fellows with same issues hopefully resolve this. I’ll wait for sometime then update 1.26 bios to 1.28 which is latest time I writing this. But skeptical this would fix🤔
  • I don't know if version 1.28 will fix this problem. However, downgrading the bios is much riskier than a bios upgrade.
