brand new acer nitro 5 w/ poor battery life

just bought a brand new acer nitro 5 and when it arrived, it was DOA. I plugged it in and the battery read 75%. I let it fully charge and about ~2 hours later, it needed to re-charge??
I sent it back to Amazon thinking it was a faulty product but the 2nd nitro that came did the same exact thing. DOA then 75% battery, full charge, then dead in a couple hours.

I should mention it died on about 2-3 hours of web browsing, google docs, and email. When it was games, it lasted about 60-90 minutes.

Is this an issue with all of these laptops? I am about to send this thing back to Amazon and get a different brand.

Anyone have any ideas? I don't have that pinhole reset button underneath and I don't want to unscrew and take stuff apart.

Thanks!

With these NEW Nitro laptops (as I have one too and found out the hard way, as I only at first just plugged it in and it didn't fire up or charge) you need to make sure that you force the charger plug and it double clicks and its fully inserted into the laptops back charging port, as if this plug is not fully inserted you could have an issue that the battery won't charge properly, so check and make sure that when you plug the chargers plug into the laptops back port, it clicks TWICE and is fully inserted! The times on battery that you are getting is "NORMAL" of 2-3 hours on web browsing and  60-90 minutes on gaming, as gaming drains allot more of battery power than web browsing. So al in all you have NO problems as what your Nitro laptop is doing is NORMAL and how it was designed!

You'll likely experience the same result with any consumer brand or model laptop you get. Advertised battery life is almost under the mildest low power conditions to make it look good. Like screen brightness turned down to half, battery saver power mode (which doesn't work well for games),  no google docs, no 3rd party anti virus scanners running in the background, no multiple browser tabs, certainly no game playing, almost all the task manager startup tab programs and apps disabled, etc. etc.  In practice, you'd be lucky to get half the advertised battery lives for just about any consumer oriented laptop. But hey, send it back to Amazon and try another brand like D ell, Asu s, H P, etc and let us know how you make out with the actual real-world battery life vs their advertised battery life.

Good luck finding something that's closer to its advertised  'up-to' hrs life. :)
