Good day
I currently have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-59AR
Intel Core i5-10300H 2.50GHz Quad Core
8GB Sk Hynix DDR4-3200MHz CL22 (running at 2933MHz)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6
I would like to install another 8GB Stick to bring the total to 16GB, I previously posted and got help, but when i took my laptop in to buy and get the 8GB Crucial DDR4 3200mhz ram (identical specs as my current ram only different chip manufactures) installed i was told its not compatible with my current memory as the chips are different - 1 being Micron 16 chips and the other Sk Hynix 8 chips. I was told to buy a new kit of matching ram - was i just told that to spend more money or is it true?
I did find another Sk Hynix 8GB DDR-2400Mhz Ram CL17, i understand my current ram would slow down to match the specs of the lower ram but either than that would there be an issues in damaging the laptop?
Would appreciate any help in this issue as to which would be the better option to go with.
Thank you
