i was playing red dead redemption 2 on my acer nitro 5 (AN515-57) then my fps just drops from around 50-60fps to 17fps at max and it stays like that, i tried to to play other games too and i noticed that the fps also got lowered down, can anybody help?

Sounds like it could be using the wrong GPU, or maybe oveheating (Im guessing you are plugged in and fully charged!). If you open task manager while in game and leave it for a bit, does it show the dedicated GPU being used under performance?

yes the gpu is being used after i checked it and im pretty sure this had nothing to do with overheating because i restarted my computer several times and its still the same result. Also forgot to mention that i own this laptop for nearly a year now and this is the first time it happened.

id lean towards power or heat then, whats the use % and the temp on the gpu while gaming :)?

sorry for the extremely late reply but anyways the use is 100% and the temp seems to stuck at 60c

hmm if its at 100% use it suggests that its pumping everything into the game, whats the useof the "copy" buffer in the two?

It could be a driver issue i guess if its at 100% and not overheating, and using the right gpu! Try rolling back the driver by manually downloading it :)
