my aspire 5, core i3 7th gen 4 Gb ram, its working slow n sometimes hang, I only use chrome n multi-tasking in internet browsing and watching movies. for performance which I will expand first, ram or SSD?

Windows 11 uses 4.3 GB RAM (minimum) so the first thing is to extend your RAM to at least 8 GB. Buy a 4GB module exactly the same (brand-speed) that is already installed as that will double your bandwidth (speed).
