Hi, I got a Aspire 5 (model n20c5) with Nvidia MX450 and framerate drops from 80 to 25 when I plug in the power cord. How to fix?

Open Control Panel. Search 'power plan'. Click edit power plan in left pane. Click advance power plan settings. Expand processor power mananagement folder. Set max processor state  to 90% on battery and plugged in.

I did this and it actually helped, but the computer also made some kind of update at the same time when I restarted. Went back back and changed to 100% again and it still seems to work. Hm... But thanks, somehow it works now.

Thanks for reporting back, I recommend 90%. But if it seems to be OK at 100%, then leave well enough alone.  :)

Is the change från 100 to 90 so that the processor won't get to hot?

The problem suddenly came back. I tried to change back to 90% and restarted. Didn't help this time. Any other idea what could be wrong and how to fix it?

    It's a new computer.

What CPU & GPU temperatures do you see when this happens?

Is there an easy way to check temp in windows?

The problem did not occur today when the battery was fully charged. But I guess it's suppose to work even if the battery is charging?
