I have a Nitro 5 laptop Model # AN517-52-52t3 and wanted to find out if there was anyway to change the keyboard color from RED to something else.  I go to Nitrosense and updated to newest version and keyboard icon is not shown.

It's possible but only by changing from the single color keyboard to an RGB keyboard or single green or blue color keyboard. The RGB keyboards are usually sold integrated with the top cover and palmrest. They may only be available from an authorized ACER parts center since the RGB keyboard models -75Z3 and -77DS may only be available in certain countries

So if I understand what you're saying that if I want an RGB keyboard I would have to physically change the keyboard part on the laptop?

    Yes, Correct.

You now have red-only (R) LEDs under all the keys.

The RGB keyboard has a mix of Red, Green & Blue LEDs under all the  keys.

The R keyboard cannot be converted to an RBG keyboard. It can only be physically exchanged

It is not so simple, the JBL2 connector is not soldered on the MB as non-RGB models comes with JBL1 only connector soldered, so you have to find a connector and someone to solder it on your MB in order to put an RGB KB on your laptop.
