Hello I have an old and out of warranty Acer Aspire MA52 laptop. I have set a system password in the BIOS. (Require a password on boot). I have forgotten the password. Their is no CMOS battery in the laptop. I have been trying to find the necessary jumpers to short in order to reset the password. But have been unable to find it. Could someone help me find the jumpers to short if possible please?

Try these basic "Clearing BIOS Passwords" guide and steps (see PDF attachment below) that are provided by Acer for Insyde BIOS Passwords but this is not specifically for your MA52, be careful on how you attempt and follow these guides as editing and/or doing anything with your bios can and as Acer warns consumers "Upgrading your system BIOS incorrectly could harm your Acer product. Please proceed with caution" so be careful as doing anything wrongly will damage your laptop bios and will brick your system. If these guides do not erase or change your bios password then you will need to replace the bios chip with a new bios chip appropriate for your laptop. Good luck and hope this helps you out.
