Hi all,   I have screwed up .... I tried to reset my laptop and made a right hash of it, so in my infinite wisdom, I used my windows 7 ultimate installation disk to start afresh.ie blank all old files etc  That all went well, HOWEVER, I now dont have internet !!! I have found the drivers on the US site, and have gone to the device manager and see the familiar yellow warning of no drivers against
Base system device  ( shown twice )  Ethernet controller Network controller PCI Simple communications Controller and SM Bus controller

I did try a wireless driver download but no go ... does anyone know which drivers I should download  to address these issues and get back on line ? I am at the moment downloading to a pen on another laptop and then running them from the pen to install on the Aspire ... is this the best way ?   any help appreciated

If you have the three downloaded Win7-64 drivers on the machine, why aren't you trying to install them one by one till one of them works? For example, the decompressed atheros zip file has a virtual 64-bit CD installation in one of the sub-folder. Just run setup.exe.
