Run Chrome Connectivity Diagnostics the Chrome Connectivity Diagnostics app that can quickly troubleshoot networks issues on Chromebook. It can help you detect the Chromebook Wi-Fi issues and provide remedies for them. Update Your Chrome OS an outdated Chrome OS can trigger various issues inducing “Chromebook won’t connect to Wi-Fi”. So, if possible, you can install the latest version of Chrome OS. Try all that and see if it fixes it? As you are at the mercy of Google on this one and not Acer drivers.

Did you manage to resolve this as i'm having exactly the same issue with a new Acer spin 514, connected to wifi but just sits on the "network not available" screen.

i can view the internet via guest mode so its connected and shows as connected in settings

looking on google communities this seems to be a common issue due to out of date chromeOS but i've tried a fix via pressing ctrl+alt+T and then typing in autest and then going into settings via guest mode and clicking on update chrome but it says im on the most current version which is incorrect as mine is showing version 88 but i'm told that is an OS from january last year and they are currently on version 103, i think there was a build date sticker on my unit that showed as built in august 21.

I've asked on several chromebook owner/user facebook groups but got loads of stupid replies like is your wifi on, its your router, turn it on and off, you need to sign into google account (cant as you cant get to that screen) just about had enough of it and about to send back to Amazon and buy a different make.

    Hi @Chrisjfresh

You can try to do a power wash to check if that makes any difference.

    Factory reset your Chromebook
    1. Sign out of your Chromebook.
    2. Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift + r.
    3. Select Restart.
    4. In the box that appears, select Powerwash. Continue.
    5. Follow the steps that appear and sign in with your Google Account.
NOTE: Make sure to backup all the data before the power wash.

Hope it will help you in some way.

Yes, the power wash should get it jump started. The issue is the version of ChromeOS that is installed is an older one, and Google changed the servers, so the message isn't that there is no network, it's that it can't find the update servers. A power wash usually forces it to recheck for the server instead of just using what it 'knows' is correct. If that doesn't get it then you can download the current OS from Google and just install it from a flash drive and that will also correct it.
