I have spoken with ACER technical support about my mouse pad which goes into a mad malfunctioning stage where I can't highlight words on a page as it won't be pulled to the left or right of the text leading to me being zoomed in and out of the page as if by magic or a ghost! It's so bizarre when that happens. As a result of the technical issue that doesn't resolve by a system restart or shut down I also end up only being able to pull the scrollbar up and down the page then have to forcefully drag the mouse across the page to my windows icon in order to go into a system shut down option.

It's driving my mad and I am pretty certain my laptop is not within it's warranty period now :(. I am no expert at computers so wouldn't know what hardware stuff to be looking at within windows..

Hope someone can help me resolve this issue quickly as it's malfunctioned and then started working again just now!

    Hi @ ssmikey33

    1. Restart your system. Turning your computer off and back on can fix a lot of problems—including a laptop mouse or touchpad that's not working. ...
    2. Check for dirt. Eat lunch at your desk? ...
    3. Disconnect Bluetooth devices. ...
    4. Enable the touchpad. ...
    5. Update your laptop drivers.

You really haven't understood what I said properly. Are you English? I have already restarted the system loads of times as mentioned above, there is no dirt on my touchpad or liquid. Touchpad is enabled otherwise it wouldn't be responding in anyway so quite a stupid thing to say. I will however look at doing any updates on laptop drivers - whatever they are..

Furthermore, underneath drivers on "Drivers and manuals" section for my ACER 315-22 there is a message saying

"Before installing the touchpad driver, please install the Serial I/O driver first". Unsure what that is where to find it on ACER website
