Hello,
since yesterday, I have problem with internet connection and hotspot on my laptop Acer Nitro 5. My laptop is connected to the internet by ethernet cable an everything works fine, until I make hotspot from my laptop. After I make hotspot and connect e.g. my mobile phone to my laptop, I can connect to the internet on my phone, but surprisingly, I can not connect to the internet on my laptop (Internet browser says ERR_CONNECTION_RESET, internet just stops working on laptop). When I turn off the hotspot on my laptop, internet works normally again on my laptop. Do anyone know the cause and possible solution for this problem? Thank you all.

Do you ever use the laptop's wifi to connect to the internet instead of ethernet cable? Because wifi is a way to share the nitro's wifi connection to the internet with other wifi devices.

Search Windows start menu 'hotspot'. Click mobile spot near top of menu. Please post screenshot of results if possible.

Yes, when I am at home, I am connecting by wifi to my home modem. Right now, I can connect only by cable. But that is not, what bothers me. Until yesterday, I was able to have connected my phone to my laptop freely without any problems. Now I can not and I don´t know why

Can you still post a screenshot of the mobile hotspot settings in Windows start menu?

Screenshot of which settings do you mean exactly?

Open Windows start menu. Search 'hotspot'. Click 'mobile hotspot' settings. Post screenshot of result.

I'm using Google translate. Looks like sharing the internet connection is off. I'm not sure what 'siet' sharing device means?

This is how it looks like, when I have hotspot on and my mobile phone is connected to it:

"Sieť" is the Ethernet network, to which my laptop is connected.

Have the exact same issues since 2 days. Internet works fine until i start a mobile hotspot. After i start a hotspot and connect to my phone the browser on my laptop says err_connection_reset or err_network_changed while the browser and apps on my phone still work fine. Tried to connect other wireless device like my PS5 via hotspot....same thing: Internet on the e.g. PS5 works fine but not on the laptop. As soon as I quit the hotspot the internet on the laptop works again.
I noticed that youtube works on laptop even with activated hotspot.

If it worked OK 2 days ago, open Control Panel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point' in the left pane. If System Protection is turn on in the box that pops up, click System Restore button. Click next. Do you see an automatic restore point with a date stamp from about 2 days ago?

Yeah right...using a restore point is maybe a temporary workaround. The whole thing seems to be caused by the june windows update. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/microsoft-june-windows-updates-may-break-wi-fi-hotspots/

OK. The update seems like the source of the problem. This is not unusual as you probably already know. You can reverse the update and still be able to temporarily block it till the fix is made. But we ACER and Microsoft users on this forum cannot predict how soon the fix will happen. Like you, we users have no control over updates. Sorry.

Are you using wifi for laptop router connection? Or wired ethernet like Mirec0102   ?

    Also ethernet.
Uninstalling the last update (+ pause update for 7 days) solved the issue for the moment.

Thanks for reporting back. Looks like Microsoft might be working on a fix. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/microsoft-june-windows-updates-may-break-wi-fi-hotspots/
