Acer Predator Triton 900 (PT917-71 NH.Q4VEV.005) Battery not charging when plugged in

Hello,
A year and a half ago the original battery stopped charging but I ignored the problem as I was not using this laptop mobile. A few days ago I got a new battery and the same problem occurs again, namely the battery does not charge. I have tried blowing out the pins with compressed air (keeping a distance so as not to break them), holding down the power button for 30 seconds, waiting half an hour and then plugging it back in for an hour and a half as well as uninstalling the battery in the device manager.

As for the laptop, it boots normally on the charger as well as on the new battery even though it is not charging. Acer Care Center shows that the battery is in good condition.

What could be the problem?

Hi, good morning.

Go to Device Manager, look for Battery and uninstall the Microsoft AC Adapter and reboot.

See if it returns to normal.

As I wrote I uninstalled the battery drivers before, but I repeated it again and it still won't charge

Unfortunately and after you have taken all the steps that a consumer can, this is not a battery, charger and/or a DC port or cord problem, its an internal power/charging circuitries/board issue of your laptop, its probably got a blown/burnet out capacitor, mosat in either the primary 3.3V stage or your laptops internal board components.

If your laptop is under extended warranty send it to Acer Tech Support or whoever you have insurance with, don't open it or touch its internals and get them to check your laptop out and fix it, if its not, then either send it to Acer or to an experienced tech that has all the tools to diagnose this problem as a consumer like you can't fix/diagnose (unless you have the experience and tools) to fix this problem. Power and charging issues are complex and integrated to allot of different component's that a consumer can't fix, as there is no magic button and/or changing the battery and charger that will fix your issue.

I assumed this scenario, well I don't have the right tools to do that. Just to be sure, should I remove the battery or leave it in the laptop?

Is your laptop under warranty? Do you know how to read an electrical schematic? About your question, I advise you to disconnect the battery from the motherboard and remove it from the notebook chassis, until the problem is resolved.
